Low price low quality, but good enough for me. Oct 26, 2007
By GoClick The plastic case is pretty poor, many of the taps fall out of their place others are almost impossible to remove. The dies are not restrained at all.
The quality of the dies appears to me to be questionable and the handles are pretty cheap too. The thread gauge doesn't seem to be very accurate and can be hard if not impossible to use on very fine threads. The taps seem alright for the most part.
That said the whole set is really cheap and it's probably good enough for chasing threads on your car, which is why I bought it.

Clean Up Those Threads Jan 21, 2012
By zydanny I needed a metric tap and die set to clean up bolt threads and bolt holes after disassembling the top half of a car engine to replace cylinder head gaskets. I didn't need the toughest set. I needed adequate to get everything ready to reassemble. This set was exactly what I hoped for at a price that maintained the project budget. The most important thread I needed was an odd size, an 11mm 1.5 pitch, which rarely appears in most sets. That I had to buy separate. Everything else was good to go. I received it within 2 days of placing the order. I'm pleased.

This set included both coarse and fine thread taps and dies. It covered the sizes I needed. It is well made.
Quality pieces in a poor case Mar 13, 2012
By Greg H I received this today, and the taps, dies, and accessories themselves all feel like they are great quality. The case they came in is terrible though, it holds nothing in place and has no markings to easily indicate the size of a given piece, so you have to squint to decipher the markings on the pieces themselves. When it arrives the entire contents were completely jumbled all over the place, and it feels like unless you keep it perfectly flat that'll just happen again.
Neiko Metri Tap and Die Set Dec 31, 2010

Suprisingly good quality for a cheap Chinese set. I have only used a short time to clean up rusted nuts and bolts, but the tools seem to work well.
