Function not Fashion May 15, 2010

These act as a filler for our Lortone rock tumbler. It helps prevent chipping of the rocks. We don't reuse the beads so think of this as a disposable part of your rock tumbler. Whenever its time to go to the next finer grit then we use new beads because you can't clean the grit out of the beads. It might be possible to reuse these but then you have to separate them and keep track of the fineness of the grit you used along with each step in order to not scratch your rocks. We fill the rock tumbler halfway with the beads, water and rocks.

Plastic beads for rock tumblers Apr 30, 2011
By mcharming These beads are to keep rocks In a tumbler from striking each other with full force while in a tumbler. They did what they were asked of them. Please note they are not in a plastic bag in the box, and opened without care, these beads may remind you of your mistake for years to come

not reusable! Mar 16, 2011
By jamie I assumed these were beads that we could use to fill up the extra space in our rock tumbler once the rocks smoothed out. Well, they are, but they are TINY.. so we had to throw them out after one use... (Too small to be strained from the sludge). If they were maybe marble sized and reusable, I'd be happy! Wonder if you could use marbles instead????
