Leaves Little To Be Desired Feb 22, 2012

Considering the few alternatives and their price, this dimpler leaves little to be desired. It has a strong magnet and is very easy to set & use. My favorite aspect of this is that it is truly adjustable meaning that we can change the depth of drive for driving into many different materials unlike the DeWalt, Bosch & Vermont American. The other brands have a preset clutch that kicks in at a proper depth for drywall. Although that will work well for some drywall installs there are several drywall thicknesses, a variety of screw lengths and different stud densities that require more torque or less so a single clutch setting won't cover all of these variables. This dimpler, on the other hand, can be adjusted to any of these situations as well as wood, cement board, MDF etc.
It will take a few trial screws to get it properly tuned to the task at hand but once you've tightened it just right you can go to town. It has an o-ring between the seperate adjustment parts to keep them from locking up but don't press the rim into your work to hard or you'll have a hell of time loosening the rings. Versatility and value makes this depth setter better than the rest.

Neiko tools adjustable bit holder is an excellent product. The magnet is extremely strong and the adjustable "cam out" action sets the screws the exact depth you want in drywall or wood. This product works great with an impact driver when installing a deck. I recommend this product highly. The price is also GREAT from Amazon!!
