Looks like junk but works just fine Dec 12, 2011

The micrometer in the picture looks good. Mine looks bad. The notch in the body of mine isn't smooth - it looks like a cut that I'd make after too much caffeine. The 0-10 label is neither straight nor evenly spaced.
However, I've measured things from .5mm up through about 4mm with a surprising accuracy, approaching 1 percent. It really does the job for me.
For the price, I'm very well satisfied. I'll just keep it out of sight in my shop so nobody makes fun.
