 Long-handled tweezers aid in "scorpion hunting" Sep 26, 2011

We moved to an area of the desert that has more "critters" than our previous home, and needed some safety changes. My hubby uses a BLACK LIGHT FLASHLIGHT (because scorpions glow in the dark under black light; flashlight available for about $5 at a small hardware store), a plastic CONTAINER and LID (sold w/ some sliced sandwich meats), and these LONG HANDLED TWEEZERS for catching scorpions, etc found inside and outside the house. The QUALITY of these tweezers is much BETTER than smaller regular tweezers, and they were PRICED WELL. After sunset, he may go "on patrol" in the darkened house and garage (especially if he's left the garage door open--oops!), and in the front and back yards. The black light brightly illuminates the entire body of the scorpion in the dark and is visible from a fair distance away--I wish it worked as well for SNAKES! With the TWEEZERS, he can safely capture the scorpion(s) and pop it into the plastic box without risk of being stung by the tail or poking his fingers into cacti, etc, and then he throws the entire box away. The wife and cats are happy and "safe" for another night.
