Useful Metal Working Tool - Recommended Mar 10, 2011

This wooden Dapping Block set is great for jewelry making beginners like us. The size is just right for the small projects we do, allowing us to form thin metal without excessive marring.
We will likely upgrade to a larger set sometime in the future, but expect that this set will keep it's place on my workbench for quite some time.

 Usefull tool to minimze edge damage May 06, 2012

I was getting very frustrated with the damage that occurred on the edges of discs I used on my metal dapping blocks.
So I decided to try something softer (wood) as a means of accomplishing the dapping process and minimizing the damage.
This block works great with the softer metals and I don't have to spend time fixing the damaged edges.
While I'm not getting rid of my metal dapping blocks I definately needed to add this to me tool kit. Try it out and you will see.
Plus the cost is reasonable

Good little starter block May 01, 2012

This wooden doming block gets the job done for small projects. It's built pretty solid and puts a slight dome on metal pieces easily. The cutouts are a bit larger than they appear in the pictures, for comparison a penny is swimming in the smallest one, you could easily fit a half dollar.
I wish the doming was a little more deep, that's my only complaint.
Overall great beginner block for the money.

made in India. item is rough, has many lumps of laquer and nicks in the shapes. it is made out of a hard wood, so it may be worth it. will update as i use it.
