OK, but there are better Jan 22, 2010
By Black Lemon This ring box isn't terrible, but you can get better-made ones that will do more to showcase your ring. If you spent decent money on a ring, who blow the presentation with a ring box that looks cheap?
It's a Box Feb 05, 2012
By John Daugherty I see a lot of people saying that if you spent a ton of money on the ring, why go cheap on the box? I went cheap BECAUSE I spent a ton of money on a ring. It's simple, clean, and elegant. The inside has no brand name, which I want because I don't like free advertising. It opens and closes easily, but it's strong enough to remain shut.
Yes you can get a box with bells and whistles, but remember, it's a box. The ring is what matters. Get this box. It's good.
Style, Form and Function Jan 24, 2012
By J. Bye I've come to really like this ring box, and even no longer regret paying for the extra 2 day shipping (I take long to decide, but act in rapid fashion). I like that there are little to no markings. The curvature as the box moves away from the hinge makes for a more ergonomic shape when clasping in ones hand. (And believe me, thats exactly what I was doing when i was standing there wondering when and how to propose!)
The spring mechanism works well even after a multitude of openings and closings.. I found as I was nervous I would open and look at the ring, close the box and then repeat the process. Luckily for me, the edges of the box are nice and slightly rounded, so it doesnt take excessive force to open, yet the box will stay firmly shut, and hold the ring perfectly inside.
The white inner top makes a great contrast, and i feel the materials used, though not the richest, certainly made the impression that I didn't just use the first box I stumbled upon, or was graced with.
The plush material in the middle grasps the ring very well. Though I will warn anyone looking into this box, that if your ring is overly large, it may not work well.
I would check the dimensions, as this box is fairly small, but the main concern against an overly large or fairly flat (horizontally extended) ring would be the bracing angles the ring at an approximate 30 to 40 degree angle. This was perfect for my application, but I can see where some people might have issues.
By the way, she was so completely surprised, thrilled that I was proposing that the fact that I didn't have the $100 wooden box I had been previously considering, simply didn't matter.
This box works and on a budget, still impresses both of us. I hope it will grace her custom built token engagement ring for years to come.
Not a bad cheap box. Jan 01, 2012
By Kyle Rhodus The outside of the box is great, the black fabric covering it is really nice in my opinion. On the inside, the part that holds the ring is nice too, not bad quality at all. However the top of the box contains a cheap plastic-like fabric. Which you can't complain for the price, but if your buying a more expensive ring, you might want to spend the extra for it. The ring I did get actually came in this exact box, so i bought an extra box haha! Just be sure you need it before you buy it!
OK but not a satin lining Nov 28, 2011
By Dman This does the job for an inexpensive ring box. My complaint is that the product description is misleading. It says: "The box is black and lined with white satin on the inside." Well, the box IS black, and the outside and the bottom half of the inside are a perfectly presentable velvet. However, the top half of the inside of the box had a slightly crooked-fitting thin cardboard inset that certainly is NOT satin....It is paper with a smooth, shiny, satin-like finish. Don't think you are getting an actual satin lining.
