Simple Quality Tools for a great price May 12, 2007
By Andrew J. Whitaker It may seem quite odd for a person with my relative incompetence to write about a tool set, but I've gone through quite a few in my day despite my ineptitude. For the price you would expect these sets of tools to be cheap and fall apart but they are anything but. Do I think they will last me forever? No, but having owned a set several times the price and using both sparingly over the years I can tell you that for recreational projects these work fantastically. It has all the general multi-purpose pliers that one needs for general household and mechanical projects (or in my case mishaps) along with a great pair of relatively slim curved needle nose pliers that I have searched for and only found in this set.
Obviously if you are hard core mechanical professional, you're not going to get these but if you are simply looking for a relatively robust (and cheap) set of pliers for everyday use - look no further.

Decent set, if you get the whole thing. Sep 11, 2009

I ordered this six-piece set and am pleased with the quality. However, what they sent me was a five-piece set in a six-piece pouch. One of the pouches was empty and the pouch said "six piece" kit on it. However, the barcode and label taped to the outside of the tool wrap said "five piece".
I contacted Amazon and they stated that because they use a third party fulfillment for this item, they could not simply replace it with the proper full kit. They offered to let me return it for a full refund or to give me a 20% discount.
Since the missing item was the "hook nose plier" which I have not much use for, I determined taking the partial refund would be the simplest resolution. As always, my experiences with Amazon and their customer service is superb and I have no complaints where that is concerned. Just be aware that you may not get what you ordered for this item and that your options for dealing with it will probably be either returning it or going through the partial refund process. If that's worth the trouble for you, then go for it -- because these are great pliers for the price.

These are very well constructed and have held up as well as my craftsman but for a way better price.

Mostly OK, channel locks are worthless Jun 17, 2011
By FuzzyLiftingDrink As the title states, this set has some decent quality tools for the price, but the channel lock pliers broke on the first usage. I tried using them to turn a simple valve and the top half just mashed down over the flimsy channels. These are the grooves in the pliers to allow you to adjust the width of the grab, but they are far too shallow for the amount of play in the handles. Unfortunately there is no way to try and fix them or tighten them up. I was able to turn the valve using another set of pliers rather easily so it was not that I was asking too much of that particular tool. Now I have a roll up tool set missing a pair of pliers, I would not recommend these if you intend to use the channel lock pair for anything.

Excellently Priced Pliers Apr 02, 2010
By Jesse I ordered these pliers based on other reviews (typically I would not expect pliers that costs about $3.20 a piece to be of very good quality), but I decided to buy these to keep in my vehicle for when something goes wrong or when I stop at the junkyard to get a part. Much to my surprise this set was just as good as pliers I've spent 14 dollars a pair for, so I would say these are well worth it!
Someone mentioned they only received 5 pieces of the set, but much to my delight all 6 pieces were in there. They are made in China and seem to be very sturdy, although I'm not in love with the fact that the arc-joint and slip joint have bolts rather than solid joints for their hinge points. The grip in the picture was a very bright orange, so I expected this to just be an over saturated image, but the handles really are very bright! The orange grips seem like they'll last just as long as that on my expensive pliers, they even have the same feel. The diagonal cut pliers teeth come together very well and don't let through light, something cheaper pliers rarely do (and sometimes expensive ones). In fact the teeth on all of the pliers have no gaps, so if you need to work with something fine it wont slip out of your grip.
All in all I believe for the price and sturdiness of these pliers you can't beat a better set, and the fact that it even comes with a roll up pouch to keep them in one place this would be excellent for a take with you and don't worry about breaking or losing them set. I would definitely buy another pair if I need them!
