Why pay More. When this set will do. Feb 06, 2009

I needed round molding to give my hard wood floors a finished look. Loved the look it gave them but I got tired of paying high prices for the molding.
I purchased a router,a router table and this 50 Pc 1/4" Shank Tungsten Carbide Router Bits.
The price and quality were excellant for the average home owner. I could have paid alot more. For a more better quality set of bits. But why ?
This 50 pc 1/4 shank tungsten Carbide router set. Has done the job perfectly and saved me without exageration. Hundreds of dollars on molding.
I have more bits then I know what to do with. But thats ok. I am ready and learning. Soon I will get the most out of this set.
You never know when you just might need that certain router bit and its there in this set.
Lets face it, How often is the average home owner going to use them ?
If that is the case, as it is with me.
Then, I highly recommend this set. this sets only limitation is my working knowledge.

Oh yeah,
They look good too. Go ahead and Confuse your Wife,friends and family. When they see this set. They will think, you really know what your doing.

As you may be able to tell from the price, these are not high quality bits. The paint comes off easily and stains your workpieces. Take many shallow passes as these bits don't dissipate heat very well and will burn your workpieces. Also, because they heat up fast they tend to dull very quickly. I would suggest buying higher quality for those bits you anticipate more use of. These would be ok if you don't anticipate needing them alot but would still like to have a wide range of choices available.

This is a good product, these are not a top of the line bits, but they are about $1. a piece.They have initially worked well for me on several projects. I have had no trouble. Some I have used several times. They are a little hard to remove from the tight holes that they fit into in the case, but that is the only down side.I'm happy to have the big selection at such a low price.

Purchased this excellent USA Neiko 50-piece, 1/4" shank tungsten carbide router bit set. While 1/2" bits are becoming the preferred upgrade, 1/4" works on all routers, including 1/2" with adapters.
All 50 bits come installed in a 14"x14" tongue & grooved wooden cabinet with clear acrylic doors.
While you could spend over $25 ea. for industrial-grade or custom bits, this set works well for around the house or hobbyist. The set also includes a wide assortment of more commonly useful bits...like straight, dovetail, cove box, V-groove, rounds, 45-deg. chamfer and slot-cutters with combos of bearing and non-bearing mounted bits, per below:
Bits with bearings include, 3-double roman, 5-flush trim, 4-slot cutters, 4- 45 deg. chamfer bits, 3-corner rounds, 3-beading bits, 3-cove bits, 3-roman ogee bits, 2-paneling bits, 1- ogee flush, 1-classical cove, 1-wave edge, plus 2-classical bits.
Bits without bearings include, 7-straight bits, 2-dovetail bits, 3-cove box, 1-panel bit, plus 2- V-groove bits.
While the larger classical and roman bits may at first glance appear to have nicks, that is their design (vs. prev. reviewer comments). So, don't be concerned. I haven't discovered a single flaw yet. But watch your fingers! All bits very sharp and tightly fitted in their individual slots, which admittedly could be a bit looser.
However, outstanding buy and speedy delivery. I highly recommend as particularly a router-learning or for around the home use. For the larger bits, I suggest using a router with a variable-speed capability and making deep cuts in at least several increasing depth passes.

I am an amateur at best so my opinion of quality in terms of router bits has to be taken with a grain of salt. That said, the bits themselves seem to be of good quality. They are very sharp and appear to be acceptable for the occasional user especially for the price. However, the cabinet is another story, in a word, "it sucks". It appears to me that they went to a lot of trouble to make a nice box because the box alone is nice but the bit racks were so poorly installed that some of them came loose during shipping. To avoid the hassle of sending it back I decided to reinstall them myself by using a little carpenters glue. As I was reinstalling them I noticed the drill angle for the bit inserts on the bottom rack was so shallow that some of the bits could not be removed from the rack without doing damage to the rack above it, some could not be removed at all. So I had to reposition the racks in order to remedy that problem. Further, if you will notice in the picture you will see that the back of the cabinet is red in color. It looks great in the picture but what this turned out to be is red cabinet/drawer liner that was cut into strips and installed after the racks were put in. I ended up ripping all of this out because it didnt line up with my repositioned racks. Also, one of the hinges on the plexi-glass doors was overtightened and the plexi-glass was cracked when I received it. If you buy this product just be advised you may not get a qood quality assembly but should be happy with the bitsNeiko Pro-Grade 50-Piece Tungsten Carbide 1/4-Inch Router Bits Set - Wooden Case
