First, I am not a professional plumber. For that matter I am not all that good with tools. But that being said, there are certain repairs around the house that can be made without calling in a professional (I do know my limitations and call way before I get in over my head) and having the right tool for the job (my daddy told me that) is quite important. Now since I do not earn a living with this sort of tool, I found this set of pipe wrenches to be quite affordable and they meet my needs perfectly. I do not need them much and do not use them a lot, but when I need one, I need one. I am terrible about breaking things and must say I have been unable to break these yet. I have a basic set of tools I use and I am glad I have a set of these as they are quite handy to have around. It is also great to inform neighbors that come a borrowing that "yes indeed, I have a pipe wrench...what size do you need?" I love the looks on their faces. If a nonprofessional and total took klutz's recommendation counts, then I would say these are a good thing to have and I am glad I have them.

First off, these were purchased without the idea of buying a truly first rate tool as I'm not a plumber by trade, but with the understanding that I would use them at some point as my position does include facilities/utilities maintanence.So, with that in mind I thought great price...? I'll make em' work. But, when I received them I was very disappointed. The wrenches themselves were packaged all together instead of individually and looked as though they had seen YEARS of abuse. Secondly the adjustment screws/dials were very quirky...they would stick in some positions and were not able to fully open and close on a few of the wrenches. Sorry, but even for the $40 I paid for these I couldn't see myself having to fight these things to work...
Also, I tried to reach the company who I purchased these items from to see about returning them and kept getting an answering machine for three days and no return phone calls from them. I tried to like these, but with the condition and way they where packaged when they arrived, along with the poor customer service, these tools were a lose-lose to me.
