3decent for the price, but not as advertised  Oct 03, 2009 By J. G. Kerns
I just received this three-pack of magnifiers today. At first, I was very pleasantly surprised. It was delivered quickly, and the items seemed to be of good quality. I just purchased one of those 60-100x pocket microscopes and while fun to play with, the quality of the optics is just awful. These are much much better, with very little chromatic aberration and nice clear images. Not perfect, but definitely worth a 4-star review, especially given the price. Unfortunately, what I ordered was a three-pack of magnifiers in 10, 20, and 30x. What I received was a three-pack in what seems to be 10x, 20x, and 10x. The two chromed loupes, marked 10x and 30x, both provide exactly the same magnification (judged objectively by photographing a microfiber sheet through the loupes). I tested them against an 8x Agfa loupe I've had for at least 30 years, and they're hardly stronger at all, so I presume the 10x is accurate.

Again, the quality isn't bad at all, especially given the price. But the quality control procedures at the factory are clearly not up to snuff. For the price, it's not worth returning, and it WAS more or less worth the price even without the 30x magnifier.

5Cheap glass at a great price.  Jan 29, 2009 By Robert Kaufman
I was looking for a modestly priced magnifier. And for twelve bucks, I was not disappointed. Bear in mind that for a set of three magnifiers you're not getting Zeiss glass, and I suspect that the actual magnifications of the 10x and 30x loupes are closer to 3x and 10x, respectively. Nevertheless, this product earns five stars from me because it exceeds my expectations for presentation, durability and optical quality that its twelve-dollar price tag would dictate.

5Finally, I can see!  Jan 28, 2009 By November Fox "Auntie N"
I just opened an antique shop and sell vintage jewelry, among other things. It's hard to price properly when you can't read how the pieces are signed. These loupes bring into very clear focus the designers signatures, even the smallest writing. The key chain loupe was my favorite as it allowed me to never be without a loupe, but alas, it somehow fell of my keychain. The other two serve me quite well. Definitely recommended!

3All I can say is, "I'm glad it was cheap!"  Dec 12, 2009 By M. S. Adams "xmrsmike"
The 30X glass had a bluish hue, and it wasn't any stronger than the 10X. I'm so glad it was cheap.

4Just what I paid for  Oct 24, 2009 By J. Fink
Magnification numbers leave something to the imagination, as a previous reviewer stated but for the price are nice loupes. Really pull up detail in coins.
